The Kid From Mataró
Born in The Gambia, Ebrima Tunkara moved to Mataró, Spain with his family in 2017. Within months, he was spotted playing for local side AEiLL Cerdanyola Mataró — and FC Barcelona came calling almost immediately.
"He elevates the entire team. A player with raw talent, personality on the ball, and the boldness of a champion in the making."
Integrated into La Masia in 2018, Tunkara went undefeated across 30 games at benjamín level and another 30 at infantiles. At just 15, he debuted for Barça Atlètic — one of the youngest to ever do so.
